Overall, the enrollment of girls in school education levels such as primary, secondary and tertiary education varied in two years, 1990 and 1998 respectively in terms of the 100 target. Developed countries faced an upwards trend in sequence of primary, secondary and tertiary education while developing countries faced downwards trend.
In case of primary education of developing countries, 83 girls per 100 boys got admitted in 1990 while the enrollment of girls per boys slightly increased up to 87 in 1998. In developed countries, enrollment of girls were 95 and 96 in 1990 and in 1998 respectively. In secondary education, the enrollment saw a significant fall of 72 in 1990 and 82 in 1998 in developing countries. On the other hand, developed countries saw a slight rise in enrollment in 1990 and 1998 which were 98 and 99 respectively.
In case of tertiary education, developing countries faced a lower enrollment of girls per 100 boys which were 66 in 1990 and 75 in 1998 respectively. This was drastically lower than the enrollments of the developed countries which had 105 in 1990 and 112 in 1998.
