Overall, the number of households with earnings less than $25,000 has increased over the time, but the families had income between $50,000 to $99,999 has not changed much. Moreover, families that had income atleast $100,000 has dominated in the latest year.
The number of households that had income of less than $25,000 stood at 25 million in 2007. This number increased in the next four years, and reached to around 27 million in 2011, before falling back to around 24 million in 2015. Additionally, the total number of families who had income level between $25,000-$49,999 also rose to around 30 million in 2011, from around 27 million in 2007. Moreover, this number also decreased in the following years, reaching to around 28 million in 2015.
On the other hand, the number of families with income of $50,000-$74,999 remained the same throughout the period. The families who had higher income of $75,000-$99,999 only saw a small change in its number, starting at around 14 million to finishing at exactly 15 million. Households that had the highest income which was more than $100,000 also witnessed an increase in its number, reaching to its peak at around 33 million in 2015.
