After that this figure underwent a slight increase in the next two periods (1976 and 1984) . Then, this number edge up to almost 500 in 1992 and this went up to more than 500 in the next period. Finally, medals given to men reached 500 in 2008 and these figures grew up to marginally more than 500 in the last period.
When It comes to female counterparts, medals awarded to women commenced at under 100 in 1960 and this statistic rose to more than 100 in the next year. Then , there were observed the increases until 1992, reaching around 250 . After that this statistic soared to 350 in the next period and this was trailed by a significant growth to around 390 in 2008. Finally, this figure went up to more than 400 in the last year.
