The bar chart presents the number of both men and women who took part in further education in Britain in three different periods: 1970/71, 1980/81 and 1990/91. It appears that part-time education was much more popular and more interesting than having full-time education for both genders in every three periods. Moreover, numbers of women who were willing to study further increased over time, especially part-time education.
Looking at men, many male choose to have a part-time education, which was the highest in 1970/71, roughly 1000 thousand. This figure then fell down to around 800 thousand in 1980/81 before rising slightly to approximately 900 thousand in 1990/91. Meanwhile, the number of full-time education increased steadily, from nearly 100 thousand in 1970/71 to almost 200 thousand in 1990/81.
Focusing on female, participation in part-time rose significantly from under 600 thousand in the first period,to over 1000 thousand in 1990/91.Same as men, although full-time was not the favourite but still increased over three periods, from just past 50 thousand in 1970/71 to around 200 thousand.
