The bar chart illustrates the number of people employed in five different sectors- sales, accounting, computing, nursing, and farming- in a region of Australia in 2001 and 2008.
Overall, sales consistently employed the largest number of workers in both years, while farming and accounting saw declines. By contrast, computing and nursing experienced steady increases over the period.
In 2001, sales had a considerable number of workers other 4 types of works and amounted to nearly 160 000. After that, there was a slight increase in 2008 (just over a 170 000). The proportion of computing reached about 60 000 people in 2001 and ranked second in the employment after sales. In 2001, there was a steady increase in computer workers, reaching 80 000. Similarly, nursing was just over 50 000 employees, as a result kept growing, and by 2008, they extended to 70 000 people.
Farming employed was the smallest number of workplaces in both years. Accounting for the period from 2001 (just under 60 000 people) to 2008 (nearly 60 000 employees) declined to 10 000 people. In farm communities decreased nearly two times- from 40 000 people in 2001 to 20 000 people in 2008.
