The bar chart compares the number of people who had a job in five types of work (Sales, Accounting, Computing, Nursing and Farming) on a particular region of Australia in the years 2001 and 2008.
Overall, in both years, the number of employees was by far the highest in sales among the other fields, whereas the reverse was true for farming. Meanwhile, the figures for accounting, computing and nursing were at almost the same rate in the first year of the period. Additionally, all the figures saw a little increase or decrease during the period.
Being at about 160,000 in 2001, the number of people employed in sales rose to just over 165,000 in 2008. In contrast, as for farming, approximately 30,000 people worked in this field in 2001, although this figure experienced a decline to 20,000 in 2008.
Regarding accounting, computing and nursing, the trends for three of them started at around 60,000 in 2001. Then, in 2008, the number of employees in accounting decreased to roughly 55,000, while the figures for computing and nursing saw a growth to about 80,000 and 62,000, respectively.
