In 1995, the figures for LG airport stood at nearly 35 million before experiencing a steady growth to precisely 50 million tourists in 1999, after which it soared to just below 70 million by 2000. The number of tourists in New airport, on the other hand, began at just under 20 million and then rose gradually to just over 40 million in 1998, after which the figure remained relatively stable at this level untill 2000.
In terms of JFK airport, the number of visitors rose steadily by just below 50 million in 1997 and surpassed LG in that year. However, the figure then dropped to just over 30 million by 1999 before reaching its peak at approximately 44 million in 2000.
