The number of students travelled to and from school by walking was more than 12 million in 1990 after which it was decreased to 6 million in 2010. Students completed their two way trip to school as a car passenger was between 4 and 6 million in 1990 and then significantly increases to approximately 11 million trips by 2010. Trips made by children in cycling was slightly more than 6 million in 1990 followed by a decline in 2010 of about 2 million trips only.
