The bar chart compares how many men and women research students majoring in six science-related subjects at a UK university in the year 2009.
Generally, the figures of male studying in 5 science-related subjects except veterinary medication were higher than female. The male students were more interested than the female students in science-related disciplines, and it was particularly true of physics. In this subject, over 200 students are male, and it is nearly 5 times than the female students.
Conversely, in veterinary medicine discipline, the female students had a greater number of people than the male students in this subject, where more than 100 female students major in. By contrast, the figure for the male students was only 100. Meanwhile, in biology and medicine were much higher than the student who studied in physics, astronomy, and geology. Even though the number of female students were not higher than male students.
To sum up, in this research, the male students and the female students had their own strength in studying these subjects.
