The bar chart illustrates the changes in the numbers of three different groups of tourists to a museum from 1997 to 2012. Overall, the numbers of those aged 15 or over ranked the highest among all categories, while the figures for special exhibition visitors saw the opposite throughout the period shown. Additionally, the quantity of all visitors reached its peak at over 525,000 in 2007.
The data reveals that in the first year, the number of adult visitors were around 300,000, nearly tripling the figures for those aged under 15 and considerably ten times higher than that of special exhibition ones. Moreover, by 2002, while both the statistics of adult and special exhibition ones had only increased by 2,000 and 1,000 respectively, the level of people aged under 15 had slightly decreased by 10,000.
In 2007, the museum experienced the highest number of visitors aged over 15, with a drastic growth of 400,500, followed by an inconsiderable fall at the end of the period, at 380,000. Besides that, after gradually dropping, the figures for people aged under 15 coming to the museum then stood at approximately 82,000 in 2012, doubling that of special exhibition tourists.
