Overall, it is clear that greater proportions of household waste of all types given were recycled over the 10 years period. It is also notable that paper and glass were the two most recycled materials in the two final years.
In 1992, a similar percentage (15%) of paper and glass were recycled, but while the figure for the former had nearly doubled by 2000, that for the latter increased by a slightly lower amount to around 27.The period between 2000 and 2002 saw the continuation of this upward trend, with the percentages of recycled paper and glass rising to 57, the highest in the chart, and under 40, respectively.
As for the remaining kinds of waste, over 15% of can were recycled, the highest figure in the first year. However, this decreased to 13% before rising to 20% in the final year. In contrast, the figure for plastic was increased marginally from 10 to 11 and remaining stable afterwards.
