Overall, it is clear that internet usage significantly increased in all income groups over the period with higher income households had the greatest access in both years.
In 2002, the proportion of households with internet access in the low-income group stood at around 38%, followed by a slightly higher figure of approximately 45% for middle-income families. High- income households recorded the highest rate, at about 65%.
By 2010, a noticeable growth was observed in all three categories. Access in low-income households more than nearly doubled to just over 55%. Middle-income families also saw a significant rise, reaching nearly 70%. High-income figures experienced the largest level of internet penetration, climbing to around 85%.
