The data illustrates the percentage of household in owned and rented accomodations between 1940 and 2020 in Spain.
Overall, the percentage of rented accomodations shows a decreasing pattern in a following year, whereas the proportion of owned accomodations follows increasing trend. Both rented and owned households accomodations shows an equal ratio in 1980.
Starting from 1940, households in owned accomodations increases steadily till 2010 and shows little decline in 2020. In 1940, owned accomodation shares only 25% which increases to 30% and remains same in both the years 1950 and 1960. In 1970, it reaches to almost 40%, followed by 50% and 60% in 1980 and 1990. In 2000 and 2010, it elevates to 65% and 70% with a slight decline to 65% in 2020.
Household in rented accomodation shows a reverse pattern, where rented accomodations was highest in 1940, at 75% which goes on declining in preceeding years as 65%, 65%, 60% and 50% in 1950, 1960, 1970, and in 1980. In 1990, it decreased down to 40% followed by 30% in 2000, 28% in 2010 and about 25% in 2020.
In 1980, both rented and owned accomodations shows equal proportion of households.
