The bar chart provides information about the proportion of households in owned and rented accommondation in Spain, over a period of eighty years, starting from 1940.
In general, it is evedent that both of these categories (households in owned accommodation and rented accommodation) outperformed each other in the specific period of time.
In 1940, most of individuals did not own a house, instead they stayed in rent, therefore indicators showed almost 80% . Only for about 25% of people have owned an accommodation. For two decades (1950 and 1960), figures were complately the same; renting proportion was just under 70 percent, and house ownership equaled to 30 percent. When it comes to 1980, both of these indicators reached to exactly the same number, and it was 50%.
From 1990, most notable changes beggined to occur. More and more people started buying a house, that is why division of proportion have changed. Until the end of 2020, people who had their own home were about 70%, whereas renting indicators fall down to 30 percent.
