The chart demonstrated the participation rates of men and women in different leisure activities in England.
Overall, all attractive activities have equal percentages for both men and women. While shopping was popular with women, men mostly spent their leisure time using the internet. In addition, playing computer games was the least favored activity
and watching TV has the highest rate of participation across the board.
Regarding watching TV, spending time with family, doing exercise, and reading, both men and women are interested in those activities. To be more clear, about 75% of men and women tend to watch TV and spend time with family. Just slightly below 75% is doing sport and reading, with the participation of males being a little bit higher than females.
On the other hand, shopping and using the internet have a huge difference between the two genders. While 75% of women prefer shopping, just approximately 27% of men share the same interest. In contrast to this tendency, nearly 75% of men spend their break time surfing the internet; this figure for women just accounts for 30% to 40%. Ultimately, playing computer games breaks all the trends, with nearly 20% of men compared to 13% of women.
