The line graph illustrates the proportion of individuals in four different age groups who went to the cinema once a month or more in a particular country in Europe between 2000 and 2011.
Overall, there was an upward trend in the percentage of people belonging to all age groups examined throughout the given period. In addition, while the number of people aged between 15 and 24 years had by far the highest figures among the age groups examined, the figure for the oldest age group remained the lowest.
In 2000, the percentage of people aged 15-24 going to the cinema once a month or more started at about 15%, after which it saw rapid growth to approximately 53% in 2011, despite some fluctuations. Similar changes, but to a lesser extent, were observed in the figure for people aged between 7 and 14 years, which increased from 10% in 2000 to exactly 30% by the end of the given period.
About 5% of people belonging to the 25-34 age group went to the cinema in 2000, with a subsequent rise to 30% in 2011. Meanwhile, the figure for the oldest age group rose gradually from around 2% to reach a peak of 14% by the end of the period.
