The presented pie charts display information about what percentage of water is allocated to different purposes in six areas of the world.
In general, what remarkably stands out from the pie charts is that the ratio of water use in agriculture is the highest in the four areas, although the percentage of water using for industrial use is the highest in the two areas. Another striking point is that the proportion of water allocated to domestic use is lower than those of industrial and agricultural uses.
Considering the ratio of water allocating to agricultural use in South America, Africa, Central Asia, and South east Asia stood at 71%, 84%, 88%, and 81% respectively. However, those of North America and Europe stood lower at 39% and 32% respectively. Regarding the percentage of water using for industrial use in Africa is 7%, which is roughly one-seventh as much as North America, and which is almost half as much as South east Asia.
With respect to that of Central Asia is 5%, although those of South America and Europe stood higher at 10% and 53% respectively. In terms of the ratio of water allocated to domestic use of North America is 13%, which is approximately twice as much as those of Central Asia and South east Asia, and which is 6% lower than that of South America. That of Europe is 15% which is 6% higher than that of Africa.
