The bar chart compares the proportion of men, women and children in the Uk who consumed the recommended daily intake fruits and vegetables between 2002 and 2010.
Overall, it is clearly evident that women consumed the highest percentage of fruits and vegetables, whereas the figure for children had the lowest proportion of consumption throughout the period. In addition, the percentage of population in all groups increased significantly from 2002 to 2006, before experiencing a slight declined in 2010.
In terms of consumption, the period between 2002 and 2006 witnessed a drastic rise in the proportion of women rising from 25% to 32% but, this figure declined gradually to 27% by 2010, whereas the figure for men increased sharply from 22% in 2002 to 28% in 2006, however this ratio fell to 24% during the period of 4 years.
On the other hand, in 2002, approximately 11% children consumed the recommended fruits and vegetables which rose to 16% in 2006, subsequently this figure dropped to 14% over the period of 4 years.
