The chart illustrates different processes that are involved in the wastepaper recycling, from wastepaper collection to manufacturing of useful paper.
Overall, the wastepaper collected are sorted by hands before transporting for the cleaning and de-inking process. This mixture is then made into usable paper.
Initially, the used papers are collected from public paper banks and from businesses. The gathered material is then graded by sorting using hands and unsuitable papers are removed from the bulk. Later the sorted papers are transported to paper mills so that further processing can be done.
Secondly, the received papers are then undergone through different cleaning processes in the mill. Moreover, cleaning in detail is the immediate process, before pulping it out. From this pulp some unwanted materials such as staples are removed, so that the cleaned pulp can then be undergone de-inking which involve removal of ink and glue from paper mix. Additionally, the last process is the manufacturing of usable paper by passing the pulp into paper making machine.
