The pie charts depict the production of energy from various sources during 1985 and 2003.
Overall, the production of oil is the leading primary sources of energy in both years; however, other renewable resources occupied the bottom-most position.
Focusing on the upward trend, in 1985, natural gas produced 13% of energy, which climbed slightly above one-fifth in 2003. Similalry, there was a slight increament in production of coal by 5% in 2003. Although, other renewable resources increased by 3%, it still remained least produced energy. Surprinsingly, hydrogen energy production remain same in both years (4%).
As for downward trend, almost half of energy was produced from oil (52%), falling to nearly two-fifths in 2003 (39%). Likewise, there was a drop in nuclear energy production by 5% in 2003 . It is fascinating to note that even though oil production is decreased by 13% in 2003, it ranked as top energy source.
