The given bar chart illustrates the number of students enrolling in six art-related courses in terms of gender at a UK university during 2011.
Upon analyzing the data, females usually exceeded the opposite gender among most of the chosen fields, especially in the Philosophy which had the largest gap between figures. Besides, English language and literature class reached a peak in terms of attendance in 2011.
Linguistics, English language and literature, and Communication and Media stud are the preferred options for students, which result in the number of more than 400 individuals in each class. While the remaining subjects had a range of below 350 with the less-adored figure which had 200 students in total.
The gap between the two genders was around 20 people in majors, 50 people in Linguistics and the maximum was in Philosophy course where the proportion of female attendance tripled the male one. Meanwhile, the data showed the exceeding tendency of females to their opposite gender, Art and Design class became an exception with more than approximately 20 individuals.
