The bar chart provides information about the distribution of cinema ticket sales between two age groups at the August Cinema in 2020. Overall, the young adults from 20 to 29 years old showed the highest interest across most given genres, except for animation and fictions films, which were most favored by the children and teenagers. Additionally, the younger age group were most attracted to animated movies, whereas comedies was most popular among the young adults age bracket.
Regarding comedies, action and romantic films which appealed more to the 20 to 29 age group. Notably, the largest sales difference between the two age groups was documented in comedy, where an approximately 150,000 tickets were sold to moviegoers in their twenties, which was around five times the figure for those aged 10 to 19 years old. Similarly, romantic movies showed a significant contrast in preferences between the two age brackets, with a considerable number of roughly 115,000 tickets being sold to the older viewer, yet only about 15,000 to the younger one. In contrast, action film exhibited the most blanced admissions, with 80,000 and around 85,000 tickets for bith groups, with sales in the 20 to 29 bracket being slightly higher.
In terms of animation and science fiction movies, both of sessions were purchased by those aged 10 to 19. Although the highest ticket sales were recorded for animation at approximately 130,000 tickets, this type of movie experienced the lowest number of ticket sales to the to the 20-to-29-year-olds at around 50,000. Lastly, science fiction movies attracted a relatively high number of both the younger and older cohorts, with their respective sales reaching a total of roughly 125,000 and 100,000 tickets.
