The data is aimed at illustrating the total number of people that relocated to five different countries-namely: Germany, India, Russia , the UK and the USA- over a 20-year period. Furthermore, there is supporting data providing percentages of these migrants amongst their native population, for each of these countries in the year 2020.
Overall, the USA triumphs by having the highest number of international migrants in millions, despite this, Germany had a higher proportion when compared to its national population as a whole. By the year 2020, the trend of moving abroad seemed to increase in 3 countries- Germany, the UK and the USA-, whereas it either decreased or stayed the same for the remaining two countries- India and Russia.
From the information given it can be clearly seen that three countries- Germany, the UK and the USA- had a rise in the number of foreign settlers spanning the years 2000-2020, with the USA seeing the most significant rise , of almost 15 million foreign nationals.Another, remarkable noticeable feature was that the number of immigrants in the UK more than doubled . On the other hand, Russia plateaued at just above 10 million people between both the decades.Lastly, India who already had the least number of international migrants , additionally witnessed a slight drop in numbers in the year 2020.
When evaluating the proportional values of these international settlers against entire populations per country in the year 2020, Germany takes the lead by 14.7% followed closely by the UK (14%), and then the USA (13.5%). These three countries were the same three that saw substantial growth in numbers of foreign migrants. In contrast to this, India had a proportion of 0.4% of foreign inhabitants , this represented the steady decline that it faced in 2020.
