The chart line compares the number of immigrants in five different states from 2000 to 2020, while the table provides information on the population of migrants in these countries in the year 2020. Overall, in both categories, the number of migrants and the proportion of population increased significantly in the USA, the UK, and Germany in the given period, whereas India and Russia experienced a decline.
In 2020, the USA accounted for the largest increase among all the countries, at 50 million immigrants, and the number of migrants in the UK in this year was double what it was during a twenty-year period. However, the figure for Germany also went up to more than 10 million migrants. Moreover, Germany recorded the highest proportion in national populations at 14.7%, with similar percentages in the UK and the USA around 14%.
In contrast, India and Russia had the least in the population of migrants with 0.4% and 8.1% respectively; also, in number of immigrants, they didn’t see a significant change. On the contrary, India saw a slight decrease and remained below 5 million, while Russia stayed the same at around 10 million immigrants.
