Overall, petroleum products and engineered goods had made a significant earnings while textiles contribution was comparatively lower than other fields. Only in gems and jwellery there was a drop in percentage value and all other categories had a moderate growth.
Petroleum and related products accounted for the highest earnings with $60 and $62 billion in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Similary engineered goods also shared a major contribution around $ 60 billion in export earnings. Textiles exports were increased rapidly in 2016 by 15.24% while others had a slight improvement.
Gems and jwellery reported a downward trend in 2016 falling from $42 billion to $40 billion with high decrease in percentage value of 5.18%. Earnings made from exporting agricultual products were around $30 billion in both years and showed a slight increase in 2016.
