The chart above illustrates the value of a country’s exports in various categories, which are petroleum products, engineered goods, gems and jewellery, agricultural and textiles, during the period between 2015 and 2016. The table above shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Overall, almost all product categories had increased in export earnings from 2015-2016 apart from gems and jewellery. The petroleum products were exported the most in both 2015 and 2016, while engineered goods came the second. Textiles exported the least in 2015, while had increased to the same level as the agricultural products, both tying for the least export earnings.
The largest increase of product categories in export earnings was textile. It had increased by 15.24%, while the second largest increase is the engineered goods, which had increased by 8.5%. The smallest increase were the agricultural products, it had just gained 0.81%. The only decline in export earnings was the gems and jewellery, it was decreased by 5.18%.
