The bar chart illustrates the export values of a country in categories like petroleum products, Engineered goods, Gems and jewellery, Agricultural products, and Textiles in 2015 and 2016.
Overall, the export value of Petroleum products was high in both years compared to other categories. Meanwhile, the lowest export earnings were from textiles. All the categories saw a rise from 2015 to 2016 except for Gems and Jewellery which saw a fall in the value.
The earnings from Petroleum were the highest accounting for 60 billion dollars in 2015 and the value raised by 3%. Next, the engineered goods also contribute well to the country’s export value. In 2015, the export value was nearly 60 billion $ and spiked by 8.5% in the following year. Earnings from Gems and Jewellery, unlike the other exports did not rise, instead, the export value declined by 5.18%. The value decreased to nearly 40 billion $. In the case of the Agricultural products, there wasn’t much of a difference in the earnings since there was a minimal increase i.e., 0.81%. Finally, Textiles made the least contribution to the country’s export value, but, there was a rapid increase from 2015 to 2016 by 15.24% making its contribution neck to neck with the Agricultural sector in 2016.
