In 1970, car theft started at approximately 0.4 million, rising to 1 milliion in 1990. Then, it saw a dramatic boom, surpassing 1.6 million in 1995, before falling back to 1 million at the end of the timeframe.
In terms of street robbery, the pattern was also volatile. It commenced at about 0.1 million in 1970 and maintained this level the following 15 years. After experiencing a significant rise from over 20% in 2000, it finally settled at 0.4 million in 2005.
Regarding to house burgling, beginning at its bottom of 0.2 million in 1970, it witnessed a remarkable rise, peaking at over 0.8 million in 1980 and surpassing the number of car theft. However, it dropped to about 0.6 million in 1985, followed by a slight increase to about 0.7 million in 1990, ending up at 0.5 million in 2005.
