The graph represents the transport preference of the younger generation of four countries in the year 2000. The data is highlighted using percentage.
Overall, it is quite clear that youngsters prefer car over the other two transportations, but the bicycle comes in a close second, followed by motorcycle.
According to the graph, in Australia, 60% of the youth inclines towards car, while 50% of the surveyed population likes riding bicycle, with only 20% using a motorcycle. A similar trend is followed in the United States but the percentage of youngsters using a car is 80%. 60% of young Americans choose a bicycle, while approximately 25% utilize a motorcycle.
While there is a stark contrast in numbers amongst the younger group in modes of transportation in the US and Australia, it differs from Canada and New Zealand. Almost 50% of young Canadians pick car, whereas only 20% ride a motorcycle and, on the other hand, nearly 35% voting in favour of bicycle. In New Zealand, the numbers are very close to each other. 50% of the young population opting for car, 45% choosing a bicycle and a striking 40% population favouring motorcycle.
