Overall, Europe was the highest percentage of migrants segment in both years. By contrast, lowest migrants from Oceania, Middle East Africa, North East Asia, Rest of Asia and North/south America.
In 1987, Eourope accounted for the largest propotion of migrants, at approximately 33%. The Rest of Asia was the secod majority section to roughly 22%. Ocenia represented about 17%. While both the middle East/Africa and North East Asia each rose to 15%. On the other hand, the least figure was Noth/South America at only 6%.
By 1997, Eurpe was the leading region and the pertcentage was 27%. North East Asia was the most significante growth, rising from 15% to approximately 24%. Migration from Ocenia was also increased, around 22%. However, Middle East Africa became the lowest segment at about 19%. In contrast,North/South America was decline roughly compare than other regions significanltly, at only 5%.
