In the next 5 years, swimming overtook snooker and became the second most prevalent sport in 2000, almost reaching a 30% participation rate, decreasing to 25% in the next 5 years. In the same period, snooker and tennis had dipped down to around 20% and remained there.
Rugby and Gold are not as popular among the surveyed subjects as the other sports, with both reaching around 25% interest rates in 1995. Rugby witnessed a drastic decrease of 5% before peaking at back up at 27% in 2005, while golf fluctuated around 27% in the 3 five-year intervals.
