The bar chart compares the amounts of tea and coffee imported by four countries, namely Canada, the US, the UK, and Germany, measured in tonnes.
Overall, the UK imported by far the largest quantity of tea, while Germany was the biggest importer of coffee. In addition, coffee imports were higher than tea imports in Canada, the US, and Germany, whereas the opposite pattern was observed in the UK.
Looking first at tea imports, the UK ranked first with approximately 80,000 tonnes, which was double the figure for Germany at around 40,000 tonnes. By contrast, Canada and the US imported much smaller amounts of tea, at about 20,000 and 22,000 tonnes respectively.
Regarding coffee, Germany imported the greatest amount, standing at roughly 50,000 tonnes. The figures for the US and Canada were slightly lower, at around 40,000 and 38,000 tonnes respectively. The UK, however, recorded the lowest coffee imports among the four countries, with only about 30,000 tonnes. Notably, tea imports in the UK were considerably higher than coffee imports, while the remaining countries imported more coffee than tea.
