The chart provides information regarding the percentage of male and female students in a university and illustrates what science subjects they are mostly interested in. Overall, male students made up majority of the university’s population during the examined time period. Moreover, statistics regarding science subjects show that the proportion of students who enrolled in biology courses in 1992 was the largest, while the lowest figure could be seen in percentage of people deciding to study physics during 1992.
In the year 1992, male students made up more than 60% of the total population in the university which is a massive number compared to female’s 30%. Similarly, during the following 20 years, males population was still larger than females population by approximately 5%.
The second chart illustrates that while biology was the most popular science field during 1992 with an enrollment rate of 65%, this number dropped to over 40% in the year 2012. Moreover, the statistics concerning people who chose physics stayed relatively the same with over 22% in 1992 and 20% in 2012. On the other hand, computer science experienced an eye-catching rise and increased by a whopping number of 20%.
