The line graph shows the age group in a country that uses the internet most compared between 2010 to 2017. In general, the higher the age the lower the popularity of internet usage in both 2010 and 2017. Moreover, there is a higher usage of the tool in 2010.
In both periods the age group which uses the internet the most is the younger generation, 16–24-year-olds at almost 100% of the population, followed closely by 25–34-year-olds. Despite this, a decline and an increasing gap between the population using internet in 2010 and 2017 is prevalent. In 2017 around 90% of 35–44-year-olds used the internet, while almost 80% of the same ages used the internet. This difference of approximately 10% between 2017 and 2010 persisted throughout, where the former (2017) had the higher percentage of population using the internet in every age group.
Initially in the two years there was a slight decline, but internet use significantly dropped after the 35-44-year-olds age group. In 2017, only approximately 40% of the 65-74 population used the internet; meanwhile, around 10% of the same population used the internet in 2010.
