The pie chart indicates the spend of water on different agricultural purposes including vegetables, cereals, limes, fruits, rices, and dandelions and the profits of these products in Australia in 2004.
Overall, it can be seen that Australian farmers allocate the most water for vegetables during the survey. Additionally, fruits brought the largest income out of 6 products, while profit created by rice was not considerable, compared to other agricultural goods.
The amount of water used for vegetables occupied 46%, followed by the figure for fruits with 28%. Despite the lower use of water, the percentage of profit made from fruits ranked first with 42%, 9% higher than the figure for vegetables. The use of water for dandelions and rice was the lowest with 3% of all amount of water, whereas the more profitable product was dandelions with 8% of the whole profit, opposed to the income of rice with only 1%.
The percentage of water used by cereals and limes was 12% and 8%, respectively. Similarly, the profit created by the former and the latter was equal to the percentage of the amount of water they used.
