The Table informs us of UK’s immigration, emigration, and net migration over a period of several years.
The immigration had risen to its highest during 2006, at up to 600000. It was the lowest during 1999, at only around 460000. There was a clear increasing trend since 1999 till 2008. However, there were small fluctuations between 2004 till 2008.
The Immigration is also representing us with an overall increase in numbers. It was the highest during 2008, of around 420000. While being the lowest during 1999, being as low as around 300000. There was indeed a sharp decrease in between the years 2006 and 2007, but raised up more to higher than it was previously.
The net migration in UK in 2008 was almost the same as back in 1999. Though it had shown a it peak in 2004, being up to 250000. It also had seen it’s lowest point during 2003, when it fell down to aproximatly 150000.
