The given bar charts illustrate the proportion of gross domestic product generated from two large British industries over a 8-year period between 1992 and 2000. Overall, it can be observed that the share of GDP from both industries significantly increased while it remained higher from the IT industry throughout the given period.
Looking at the data more closely, it can be seen that in 1992 the service industry accounted for 4% of GDP whereas the IT sector made up slightly over 6%. Two years later the GDP from both service and IT industries rose, reaching nearly 6,5% and just over 8% respectively. However, in 1996 the percentage of gdp generated from the IT sector gradually declined to approximately 7,9% while the gdp from service industry grew, attaining almost 7%.
It is important to acknowledge that from 1998 and towards the end of the given timescale the both sectors experienced an upward trend. In 1998 the GDP from the IT industry constituted 12%, which was 2 times higher than at the beginning and in 2000 the industry made up around 15%. Meanwhile, in 1996 the service sector generated around 7.5% gdp, the share which increased to over 8% two years later.
