Overall, the population numbers of all countries increased from 1990 to 2000 and Sao Paulo had the highest number of population. In addition, the actual figures for 2000 in the three countries were higher than the predicted numbers.
In 1990, Sao Paulo had the highest figures, with approximately 16.5 million. Followed by Shanghai with nearly 12 million, about 4.5 million lower than Sao Paulo. With around 9 million people, Jakarta had the lowest figures.
In 2000, Jakarta was predicted to get 11 million but the actual number is higher with 12.5 million people. The real number of people in Shanghai was 15 million but the forecast shows that it is 12.5 million like Jakarta. São Paulo shares the same condition, São paulo with nearly 25 million people in actual numbers which is more than 3 million higher than the prediction. We can see that the world population has increased faster and higher than predicted.
