Overall, it is clear that there was an increase in the percentage of adults working in education training, hotel industry, building, whereas a downward trend can be seen in the figures for those employing medical and business. In addition, the unemployment and self-employed rates grew significantly during the period.
The percentage of adult population working in education training started at 8% in 2003, after which it experienced a rise to 18% in 2013. Similar changes can be seen in the figures for those working in the construction and hotel industry, starting at 12% and 4% in 2003, and ending at 22% and 19% in 2013, respectively. Additionally, beginning at 13% in 2003, the proportion of self-employed people went up to 33% in 2013.
Conversely, 44% of adult population chose to work in the business sector in 2003, with a subsequent decline to 33% in 2013. Similarly, the figure for those who were self-employed started at 15% in 2003 and ended at 33% in 2013. An opposite trend can be observed in the statistics for adults without job.
