The bar chart gives the information about daily consumption of salt by men and women per miligram across six different age groups in the US from 2000.
Overall, men and women rapidly rose their intake of salt, but down process, women are faster than men, all the age group. It is clear that men consume more sal than women, especially in adulthood between 20 and 39 years old.
The age of 6 year old boys intake of salt is 2000 milligrams, whereas the recommended value is 2500 milligrams. But the massive resurgence of adults age 20-39 with high consumptions of salt, around 4500 milligrams, is crossing the regular value. After that, men gradually decrease the value, from 40 to over 60.
On the other side, girls are consuming salt above 1000 milligrams above the recommendation value. Age of 6-11: dramaticly higher consumption of salt to the girls because their recommendation value is 2500 milligrams; they intake around 3000 milligrams. After that, woman consumption slowly fell at the age of 39 to over 60 years. Moreover, men intake of salt more than women than the recommendation value in US years 2000, respectively.
