The line graph presents detailed information on the number of international students enrolled to study in the UK by continent between 1995 and 2015.
In general, it is clear that there is an upward trend in the number of students coming from Asia and North America over the given period, while at the end of the period, both African and European students remained the same after changes. It is also worth noting that the huge number of students accounts for Asian students in all years.
The total number of students from Africa witnessed no changes during the years 1995 and 2005; it stood at 20 thousand after reaching its peak of 30 thousand in 2010. However, after a modest increase, student enrollment figures returned to their initial number in 2015. By contrast, there were varying changes in the percentage of European students throughout the period, but it maintained the same proportion in 2015, at 50 thousand.
As for the rest, students from Asia were the ones to make up the largest group of international students the entire time, experiencing sharp growth over the years, from 60 thousand to almost 120 in 2015. In comparison, between 1995 and 2000, North American students remained static at around 40, following a slight decrease to approximately 38. Having declined, it continued rising until the end of the period by roughly 30 thousand students.
