Overall, the chart shows that majority of men and women were studying part-time, while only a few were participating in full-time education.
With women studying part-time, there was a significant increase from 1970 to 1990 with the latter amounting to 1,100,000 females, which was the highest among all during the three-year period. On the other hand, men in part-time education shows a slight dip in the number of students in the year 1980.
Full-time students for both men and women are drastically low in number compared to part-time students with a difference of 900,000. It can also be noted that while it is low in number, the chart shows a gradual increase in number of students for both male and female throughout the three-year period from 1970 to 1990.
