Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the fraction of men in poverty has been steadily decreasing while going up the age group. However, the fraction of women in poverty has been fluctuating.
Men under the age of 5 has the highest poverty rate at just over 20 percent. This percentage has been decreasing going up the age group ladder and remained equal for the age groups 45 to 54 and 55 to 59 which is at around 7 percent. Furthermore, there is a slight rise in percentage for 60 to 64 year olds, and again started to decrease for the remaining age groups.
On the other hand, poverty rate of women below 5 years is at just over 20 percent which is also same for 18 to 24 year olds. After that, the poverty percent started to decrease and has seen the lowest among 45 to 54 year old females.
