The line graph illustrates the proportion of tourists travelling to Scotland to visit different destinations, namely aquarium, castle, zoo, and festival in Edinburg from 1980 to 2010.
Overall, despite some remarkable fluctuations, there was a decrease in the percentage of people choosing the aquarium and the festival, albeit the difference in falling pace, while the opposite was true considering that of those going to the zoo and the castle. In addition, the castle was the most attractive one at the end of the period.
At the initial point, the figure for the influx of individuals opting festival as a travelling destination was the highest, at 30%, 1.5 times higher compared to aquarium, subsequently experiencing a gradual fall to less than 20% by the year of 2010. Regarding the percentage of people coming to the aquarium, this number rose dramatically to 35% by 1985, before declining sharply to 20% with a subsequent growth at 22.5% in 1995, and gradually fell onwards.
Turning to the other two attractions, the proportion of people attending the zoo tour in Edinburg was the lowest in 1980 until fluctuating in the next two decades and noticeably increased to 20% at the end of the surveyed period. Finally, at the outset of the graph, the castle attracted 22.5% of tourists coming to Scotland before surpassing the festival to become the most favored place, peaking at 45%, followed by a drop to 35% in 2000 and remaining relatively stable since.
