The bar chart illustrates the percentage of driving tests passed in both genders in an Asian country from 1980 to 2010.
Overall, the passing rate of both genders in driving tests increased steadily throughout the decades. Despite this, women’s percentage of driving tests passed was generally higher than men’s.
The percentage of women who passed their driving tests rose from just below 50% in 1980 to just over 50% in 1990 before dramatically jumping to slightly less than 70% in 2000. After that, the percentage declined to near 60% in 2010.
The percentage of driving tests passed in men, starting at just below 30%, had a significant growth of around 10% in 1990 before rising again in 2000 to just below 50% and settling at that level in 2010. In the year 1980, there was a difference of 20% between the percentage of driving tests passed in men and women, with approximated values of 30% and 50%, respectively.
