In overview, it can be seen that paper and plastic wastes experienced the biggest change as compared to other types of wastes.
According to the pie chart, categories such as paper, food, and plastic wastes experienced a significant change. Food and plastic wastes increased drastically from 12% to 21% and 8% to 18% respectively. On the other hand, paper wastes experienced a massive downtrend, falling by 10% from the initial 25% in 1960. Other notable changes that can be seen are textile and wood wastes. Textile wastes decrease moderately by 6% from the initial 17% in 1960, whereas wood wastes experienced a moderate increase from 4% to 8%
Other than the notable changes mentioned before, some types of wastes remained relatively stable namely metal, glass, and green wastes. Glass and green wastes remained stable throughout both years at 5% and 9% respectively. In contrast, metal wastes experienced a minor increase of 1%, from 8% to 9%, within the same timeframe.
