From an overall perspective, it is discernable that in both countries the proportion of those who aged from 15 to 59 years old remained highest despite some major fluctuation.
Examining the figures more closely, the numbers in 2000 show noticeably different trends. Yemen’s population constituted around half of aged under 14 years with 50,1%, which being far higher than the rate in Italy 13%. In the 15-59 and over 60 age group, the proportion of Yemen stood at 46.3% and 2.6%, respectively. While in Italy was 61.6% and 24.1%.
By 2025, the statistics for population will have changed quite markedly. The data for elder individuals in Yemen is expected to increase to 5.7%, while in Italy will have increased to 42.3%, which nearly double. As for the 15-59 age group, 57.3% in Yemen compare to 46,2% in Italy. Meanwhile, the rate of the under 14 years in Yemen will have exhibited a moderate fall to 37% and Italy’s population will have accounted for 11.5%.
