Overall, it can be clearly seen that the most popular genre among people is comedy, as they buy more tickets to these films, while dramas are made more often. Moreover, less popular genres are romance and fantasy.
According to the figures about films released, it can be observed that leaders did not change through the period. The most popular genre among creators in 1996 was drama (just under the quarter) and in 2000 the number of films made in this genre increase to exact 35%. The second place was occupied by comedies which at the beginning of the period amounted one fifth of all films and at the end of the period one fourth. The less common films among creators are romances. The number of this genre did not change through the whole period and was equal to mere 5%.
Talking about viewers, the most common genre among them was comedy. In 1996 people bought one fifth of all tickets to watch films in this genre, and in 2000 this percentage increase to just under 25%. The percentage of tickets sold for dramas practically did not change and was equal to roughly 15%. Romance is the only genre which became less popular among viewers. In 1996 people took 5% of tickets to such films, and in 2000 it declined amounted mere 2%.
