The charts illustrate the porportion of four different films genre- drama, comedy, fantasy and romance – released as well as the percentage of cinema ticket sales for each in 1996 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear that numbers of films released in 3 different genre has exhibited an upward trend over the period , except for romance which remained constant in both years, whereas comdey flims had the most number of ticket sales as compared to others.
To begin, romance genre of cinema stood at approximately 5% in both year , which was the least number of flim release.The number of flim , which consist of Drama , comprised higher number release in both the year that exceeded by 15% . Similary, Comedy and fantasy accounted for increase of around 5% each respectively between 1996 and 2000.
Moving on to the ticket sales, Comedy witnessed largest percentage in both year compared to others.While, fanatasy sold least number of ticket in 1996 , the figure rose in 2000 which was at just above 5%. Drama remained stable in both year at well above 15%.However, romance sales declined from 1996 (exactly 5%) to 2000(nearly 2%).
