The pie charts compare about four different modes of transportation in the town of Cambridge in 2008 and 2018. The four different modes are: cars, buses, bicycles, and walking.
Overall, after a decade, the trend showed that Cambridge’s people significantly preferred motorized vehicles in 2008, while bicycles and walking were best choice in 2018.
In terms of motorized vehicles, cars were the most popular transportation preferred by individuals at 42 percent in 2008. This was followed by bus usages at three-tenth. As such, 72 percent of people utilized each of these two forms of transportation. In contrast, personal motorized vehicle were the least popular modes of transportation in 2018, reaching 20 percent. Bus usages fell slightly to 5 percent from 32% in 2008 to 24% in 2018. In regards to other modes of transportation, bicycle and travelling on foot are the most unpopular in 2008. Walking was the least category used by people, choosing 11%, and it had experienced a spike popularity, reaching 25% in 2018. Bicycles usage saw a rise from 17% in 2008 to 30% in 2018.
